Introduction

As the name suggests, this plugin gives power to a merchant by allowing them to sell products based on a user's GEO location which makes it unique for a merchant who sells globally. In such cases, a merchant can control whether or not they want to sell specific products to a specific country. Country specific products extension is a perfect solution if you want to publish your products to specific countries.
The Country Specific Products extension is easy to install & configure right from the backend. We code hard to confirm it works straight with our extension and 3rd party extension without suffering from any performance issue. Updating countries in a group will take immediate effect on the frontend. You can create a country group by selecting countries from different continents and allow a customer to visit your website to purchase a specific product. If a customer is logged in or guest user, our extension automatically detects the current GEO location of a customer by their IP address. And it show the products based on a country group.

Notes:

we are using a free version of geoplugin.net as IP detection service which has limitations for requesting IP detection service. If you request IP detection service more than 120 per minute they will block IP address for 1hr and then auto-whitelist after that to protect the server from spamming. By using our plugin, you are accepting their "Acceptable Use Policy" which can be read here.

Extention Configuration

To use this Country Specific Product you have to Go to System > Configuration > SETUBRIDGE > Country Specific Product Tab:

  • Here is a configuration option to Enable/Disable Country Specific Products extension.
  • Admin can select page which opens when user opens product page using URL from restricted countries.
  • Using this Backend Configuration admin can Create/Manage multiple Groups of country. There will be immediate effect on frontend by updating countries in Groups.
  • In the given configuration admin need to enter Code & Title for created country group
  • Admin can quickly select multiple countries by using checkboxes for country group.
  • Assigned product list for created country group, admin can be seen product details like products ID, Name and SKU.
  • Here is a option to manage products visibility for specific country group.
  • Select country group where you want to display this product.

1. Is it work on Geo location for identify current country ?

Yes, We detect customer using current IP address.


2. Can user assign same group for multiple products ?
